Aged in neutral old Burgundy barrels, it is a dense ruby/purple-hued effort displaying notes of crushed rocks, blueberries, raspberries, and an aged beef-like character that gives the wine a wild/rustic style. It should evolve nicely for a decade or more” (October 2006)

It is a deep, opulent, full-bodied, voluptuously-textured red that hits all the sweet spots as it cascades over the palate. • “A blend of 56% Grenache, 35% Shiraz, and 9% Mataro, the exceptionally intense 2004 Grenache/Shiraz/Mataro boasts beautiful spicy, flamboyant aromatics that offer up scents of blueberries, kirsch, jammy black currants, pepper, smoke, and earth. This sexy, full-bodied, impressively endowed wine is super-charged with fruit, glycerin, and extract. And, like the grenache, came in at a relatively modest alcohol level, 14.8%.
